A limited edition Primitivo DOP , from the best sites in this region Gioia Del Colle, with intense aromas of bitter chocolate and plum, with a soft and persistent taste at the same time. Type of soil in this region of Puglia consits mainly of limestone.

330m above the sea level. All grapes were picked by hand. This wine pairs well with Roasts, aged cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine. On the nose a lot of fruit, smoke and the long legs on the glas gives already a hint on the high alcohol. On the palate this wine is big in fruit, still high in acidity with very balanced tannins. After the first sip yopu want more but carefull the powerful 16,5% Alc are well disgused but still there. For us the best Primitivo we know and we were not surprised that Gambero Rosso nominated this wine "Best Italian Red Wine 2013"

Only 10.000 bottles produced from 80 years old vines. This wine was in stainless steel vats for 6 months and further 16-18 months in French oak barrels. It is not filtrated and it is kept 6 months in bottle before it was released
