This white wine is a traditional Palatinate cuvée made from 70% Gewürztraminer and 30% Riesling grapes. It has a delicate bouquet of roses and nutmeg on the nose and palate. A voluminous wine yet rich in finesse. Both grape varieties complement each other perfectly: The Traminer grape provides the bouquet and the opulence whilst the Riesling ensures elegance and playfulness. This impression is enhanced by its delicately smooth and meltingly fruity sweetness.
This winery handpick all their grapes. They believe in a hands-on, manual approach and this is more important than any technical novelty. What counts for them are experience and the right good feeling. After a slow fermentation lasting several weeks, the wine is stored on the yeast until shortly before bottling. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks under absolute airtight conditions. The grapes come from different types of soil (typical for the wine region around Laumersheim) such as limestone, sandy loess, quartz sand and gravel.
Very versatile white wine it goes well with light appetizers e. g. terrines, salads and fish dishes in all versions as well as white meat. Gewürztraminer is also perfect partner for Asian food (spicy, sweet-sour or fiery) but also hearty dishes, like simple tapas dishes or just enjoy it solo!
