Lovely pure and delicate but ripe and intense on the nose, with the typical iron-rich tropical and herbal flavors of the reddish terroir. Highly elegant and perfectly balanced on the palate, this is a super salty, finessed and tensioned Würzgarten with great tension and complexity. Citrus flavors in the long and salty finish. An impressive wine that might be even better in a couple of months!
The Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling GG is a first-class white wine. It reveals a wonderfully brilliant, light yellow color. If you give it some air by swirling, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating brilliance that makes it dance lively in the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Dr. Loosen displays aromas of oranges, lemons, pomelo, physalis and kumquats, complemented by forest floor, vanilla and cocoa bean. This white from Dr. Loosen is ideal for all connoisseurs who like as little sweetness as possible in their wine. However, it never shows itself meager or brittle, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. In the finish, this white wine from the Mosel wine-growing region, which can be stored well, delights with its considerable length. Once again, hints of lemongrass and pink grapefruit appear.
Grosses Gewächs (GG) means “great growth” and is the designation for an estate’s best dry wine from a Grosse Lage (grand cru) vineyard. This GG Riesling is from a parcel of extremely old vines (“alte Reben”) that is still referred to by its historical name, Urglück.
